Across the Atlantic, Cat grew up amid three brothers and a sister in a highly creative family atmosphere in Westphalia, Germany. Born into a home filled with music of all styles, Cat was surrounded by anything from classical to jazz and blues. Early on she was drawn to the guitar and would sneak into any room where one was and play, eventually teaching herself the chords and progressions, a habit which would ultimately lead to a life-long passion.
Submersed in anything and everything having to do with music, Cat absorbed its creation and arrangements, borrowing and learning from anyone who would share their knowledge. During her teenage years, she practiced, grew and honed her craft, hoping one day to make it a career. College brought her to the USA, and in 1981 she immigrated to the United States, calling Atlanta, Georgia her home. Three beautiful sons became the inspiration to one of her songs: “Three Raw Diamonds."
