i don't have a god out there
taking care of me.
my god lives inside of
not next to
me
in this body
of flesh and bone mainly water
not a building made of stone
my god is the newborn
naked helpless powerful determined
my god is the color of pencils
the lure
teasing my soul
my god is the music filling up
my head
to where there is no more space left
for anything
my god is the wisdom
my children teach me
from knowledge long forgotten
my god is laughter dancing
touch
fingertips on skin a kiss
my god is the owl
silent
wings spread wide
when i fall
my god is the dolphin
somersaulting over waves
bringing me up
to the surface
when i drown
my god is the fire fly
keeping the dark lit
just enough
for me
not to crash
my god is in the eyes of a wolf
fixed on me not letting go
until i stop
running
into the cold
my god knows the pain
only i can feel
my god knows the sorrow
only i can see
my god knows
death
and is not afraid
my god is in the hoof beat of horses
free
making my heart jump
as i join in their joy
my god is in the velvet paw of a cat
hiding
razor sharp claws
my god is in the rose and in the thorn
my god is the vision
where i find my self
when i am lost
my god does not want to let me go
my God is Love.
